A couple days ago I sat down to install the newly-released WordPress 2.3 beta 1. Upon attempting to login, I was greeted with the landing page shown above - complete with a pretty girl on the home every page… Oops. As seen by my copy of Mint, actual downtime was only an hour or so.

Migrating to (dv)
As this is pretty much my only site that gets any decent amount of traffic, it’s the last one I’m migrating over to (mt) Media Temple’s (dv) environment. Expected downtime is from 2-4pm EST.

5ThirtyOne v2 Theme
Derek from 5ThirtyOne has graciously made his ‘v2′ theme available to the public [download], and I’m trying it out. It makes a great first impression - clean code and bits of JavaScript functionality built in (check the ‘about’ and ’search!’ pages in the menu, and also the ’similar’ and ‘freshness+’ on single post pages).
